Designed for fun and safety, this interactive program develops cultural awareness, music appreciation, small tool skills and color project design and layout

The Art for Kids program began 17 years ago and has been located in the heart of Mission Hills for the past 7 years. The program provides all the materials, tools protective clothing, clean up and supervision. Any preparations not suitable for children are completed before hand by the instructor.

Children complete display quality artwork while learning to manipulate the different media used to create the pieces and gaining a sense of pride from their creations. The cultural backgrounds of the various projects are taught alongside the mechanics of producing the pieces. Program also includes advanced ceramics with artistic glazing technique.

Kristi McLean is the owner and instructor of the Art for Kids program. She brings a love of art, music and the outdoors to the program and shares it with the children
